Efficient use of energy is central to good paper mill operations, with the grade of paper manufactured and source of pulp dictating levels of usage. At the same time, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are closely linked to overall energy usage as well as the types of fuels used. Drawing on benchmarking analytics in FisherSolve™ for some 3,500 paper mills worldwide, this analysis compares energy usage and GHG emissions at paper mills making similar grades and having similar pulp sources in major paper producer countries.
