Following a decade of steady positive growth, the production of uncoated woodfree printing paper (UWF) globally has leveled out to roughly 45 million MTPY. Growth to date can be attributed to China. However, total global demand will flatten and then decline. Ultimately, some producers will be forced from the market. The survivors will have one or more competitive advantages. This analysis looks at what those advantages might be.
