Director of Research
Sandy Perkins’s role at Fisher International is to create systems that “let data speak to decision makers.” She leads an international research team of highly knowledgeable papermakers who also help form the rules and data checks which make the Fisher database the industry’s premier and unparalleled business intelligence resource.
Ms. Perkins began her career as programmer at Great Northern Paper (subsequently Georgia-Pacific, Bowater, Inexcon, and Fraser) where she went from IT Manager to Controller at the Woodlands Business Unit, developing their GIS, building software models, and restructuring the business system for their vast timber inventory and fixed assets. In addition to providing financial oversight on the paper mill side, she was responsible for data utilization solutions, translating data and computer processes into resources that support productivity and efficiency.
She is also responsible for continual calibration of Fisher’s databases, coordinating integration of research input, database structure, and cost modeling.
Ms. Perkins earned her BS in Computer Science and Mathematics at Fitchburg State College and holds a Masters in Business from Husson University.
